Michael White lives and works between NY + LA. His background includes a career spanning vintage poster restoration, social service, teaching, and over a decade of innovation work with big companies. He is committed to celebrating the absurd and making the world a more interesting place.

As an artist, Michael’s goal is to ignite a shift in emotion and perspective for the viewer. He creates this shift by tapping into the dissonance between our collective expectations and the aesthetic content of the work. An understanding, a realization, an acknowledgment.

His current medium is self-described as Mixed Media Advertisement Salvation, a process which involves rescuing forgotten imagery from oblivion and offering it newfound relevance. He achieves this recontextualization through cropping, bordering and a variety of light box techniques.
